Reminder: CFA Multimodal Transportation Fund Grant Applications Due July 31

The Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) is now accepting grant applications for its Multimodal Transportation Fund, and townships are eligible to apply untilJuly 31. Applications must be submitted through DCED’s online single application for assistance. Transportation projects from $100,000 to $3 million are eligible. This opportunity is separate from PennDOT’s Multimodal Program.

The CFA Multimodal Transportation Fund provides grants to encourage economic development and ensure a safe and reliable transportation system. Eligible activities include the development, rehabilitation, and enhancement of transportation assets to existing communities, streetscape, lighting, sidewalk enhancement, pedestrian safety, connectivity of transportation assets, and transit-oriented development. Municipalities are not required to provide local matches for grants awarded through December 31, 2026, and the new budget package extended this provision to December 31, 2027.

For more information, including frequently asked questions and an application checklist, visit DCED’s grants page.
