Below Projected Revenue Report Released for October
The state Department of Revenue reported collections of $3.5 billion in General Fund revenue in October, 1.3% below Independent Fiscal Office projections, with fiscal year-to-date General Fund collections totaling $13.5 billion for the first four months, .4% below IFO projections. While the official revenue estimates have not yet been certified as part of the budget process, the Independent Fiscal Office released 2025-2026 revenue projects in June.
Personal income tax revenues for October were $1.6 billion, 3.1% below IFO projections, with year-to-date collections reaching $5.7 billion, .3% above IFO projections. Sales and use collections for October were $1.34 billion, 1% below IFO estimates and $5.2 billion year-to-date, .7% above IFO estimates.
The Motor License Fund, which includes liquid fuels funds, collected $250.2 million for the month and $1.1 billion for the fiscal year-to-date. IFO did not provide projections for the Motor License Fund. Click here for the IFO report and here for the state Department of Revenue release.
