Hundreds of Townships Receive CFA Multimodal Transportation, Small Water and Sewer Grants Awards 

The Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) met and approved 768 projects totaling nearly $280 million in grant funding. This includes nearly $169 million in CFA Multimodal Transportation Fund awards for 323 projects and an additional $110 million in PA Small Water and Sewer program grant awards for 445 projects. Townships or the municipal authority’s serving them received nearly 300 of these awards. Click here for the press release and here for the full award list. Here are a few highlights: 

  • Bedford Township, Bedford County, Dively Road Bridge Replacement, $465,085 
  • Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County, streetscape and walkway improvements in Hempfield Township, $1,250,000. 
  • Brush Valley Township, Indiana County, Campground Road Paving Project, $300,000. 
  • Newton Township, Lackawanna County, for the Newton Township stormwater improvement project, $398,352. 
  • Palmer Township Stormwater Authority, Northampton County, 25th Street Culvert Replacement Project, $381, 551. 
  • Willistown Township, Chester County, West Chester Pike Sewer Extension, $354,745. 
  • Jenks Township, Forest County, District 1 Pump Station Enclosure Replacement Project, $300,000.
