DEP is accepting applications for the Environmental Education Grants Program for the development of innovative education projects that expand the public’s understanding of Pennsylvania’s environmental issues and develop skills to be good stewards of the environment.  

While townships cannot apply directly, DEP encourages municipalities to partner with an eligible applicant to deliver the program. Eligible applicants include county conservation districts, educational institutions, school districts, and nonprofit organizations. The application deadline is November 13, 2026, and more information can be found on DEP’s website. This is a great way to build a partnership and a chance to educate students about local government!
