House Approves Resolution Recognizing Pennsylvania’s Role in America’s Founding

This week, the state House of Representatives unanimously approved HR 576, which recognizes important events on the historic 250th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence and Pennsylvania’s vital role in this event. The Declaration was adopted on July 4, 1776, by the Continental Congress in Philadelphia and was first published by a newspaper and had its first public reading in Philadelphia.

The resolution encourages residents to reflect on the 250th anniversary and celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime event by participating in local activities. The resolution further encourages residents to celebrate and reflect on the meaning of freedom, democracy, and citizenship. Click here to read the full resolution. Stay cool and have a happy 250th celebration!
