Corps Water Infrastructure Financing Available for Dam Safety Projects  

The United States Army Corps of Engineers has announced the availability of the $7.5 billion Corps Water Infrastructure Financing Program (CWIFP). This program will provide long-term, low-cost credit assistance toward safety projects to maintain, upgrade, and repair non-federally owned dams identified in the National Inventory of Dams. Dam removals are also eligible to receive CWIFP credit assistance. Townships are eligible to apply through December 19, 2023.  

Eligible projects include development-phase activities, including planning, environmental review, permitting, preliminary engineering and design work, and other pre-construction activities; construction, reconstruction, rehabilitation, and replacement activities; and acquisition of real property and equipment. Projects must have eligible costs that are reasonably anticipated to equal or exceed $20 million. For more information, visit the CWIFP website.
