The AARP Community Challenge provides grants to fund quick-action projects aimed at helping create livable communities for people of all ages. Townships are eligible to apply for funds toward the following activities: 

• Creating vibrant public places (parks, open spaces, community amenities) 

• Expanding transportation and mobility options (walkability, bikeability, transit access) 

• Increasing housing options (accessible and affordable choices) 

• Enhancing digital connections and digital literacy 

• Strengthening disaster resilience (disaster preparedness and mitigation)
