State Transportation Commission Adopts 2027 12-Year Program

Last week, the Pennsylvania Transportation Commission adopted the 2027 12-year Program, which is Pennsylvania’s official mid-range planning tool. It lists statewide planned projects and assigns funding to projects over a 12-year period. The first four years comprise the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP).

The 12-Year Program (TYP) is updated every two years after regional Transportation Improvement Programs (TIPs) are submitted and approved by Metropolitan and Rural Planning Organizations (MPOs and RPOs). PennDOT combines the 24 individual regional TIPs with two statewide TIPs to create the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). Click here to view the new TYP.
