PSATS Scholarship Application Form
Thank you for your interest in the PSATS Scholarship! Please review the instructions below and complete the following fields to submit your application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Application Requirements:
- Attend a local township meeting
- Personal accomplishments list of honors, leadership roles, and activities you have completed or are currently undertaking in school or local community. Please include years of involvement.
- Copy of high school transcript
- Two letters of recommendation, one of which must come from a township supervisor
- Essay (see requirements below)
Interested applicants must submit an essay on one topic corresponding to their chosen scholarship type.
- Local Government Achievement: Recount a project, service, or event in which you participated that had a strong impact on your local community. Consider some of the following: What was your role in this project? How and why did you choose this project or event? How did you involve your township, school, or other local community groups? What was the outcome?
- Academic Achievement: In 2026, the United States reached it’s 250th anniversary. Reflect on how your township has evolved over the years. Consider some of the following: In what ways have technology, development, and population changes affected your community? How has civic engagement changed over the years? What historical moments or people from your community have made it unique? A visit to your local historical society may prove very helpful in research!
- Essays must be at least 500 words, typed in 12-point font with double spacing. The essay must be original with no use of Artificial Intelligence. Essays can include additional materials, including pictures or links to videos, to accompany the text. Each essay will be judged by an independent panel based on creativity, knowledge of the topic, and grammar.
Completed applications must be received by January 31, 2027. Winners will be selected and notified before the 2027 PSATS Annual Conference.
