Reminder: Federal Road, Stormwater Grant Applications Due 2/28  

The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) has $1.5 billion in funding available through the Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) discretionary grant program. Townships are eligible to apply through Grants.gov and the deadline for applications is February 28.   

Capital and planning projects are eligible for RAISE grants, including:   

  • Highway, bridge, and other road projects;   
  • Public transportation;    
  • Intermodal projects;   
  • Replacement or rehabilitation of culverts or stormwater runoff prevention to improve aquatic species habitats; and    
  • Planning, preparation, or design (for example, environmental analysis, feasibility studies, benefit-cost analysis, and other pre-construction activities) of eligible capital projects.   

The FY23 RAISE funding will be equally divided between rural and urban area projects.
