PSATS Hosting Free Sessions Next Week on Grid-Scale Solar in McKean, Westmoreland Counties

PSATS invites township officials and employees to attend one of two Grid-Scale Solar Workshops that will be held next week. The workshops will provide an educational overview of the technology and trends driving proposed solar development in Pennsylvania. The speakers, Tom Murphy, PSATS’ solar adviser, and Mohamed Badissy, professor at PSU Law Dickinson, will also take a deeper dive into solar ordinance considerations and address the many components of successful solar case studies from across the commonwealth. Please note that the program is not intended to promote solar development overall but instead to provide comprehensive knowledge on the topic.

Here are the dates and locations:

  • Wednesday, May 10, 9 a.m.-noon at the Westmoreland County Conservation District, 218 Donohoe Road, Greensburg, PA 15601.
  • Thursday, May 11, 1-4 p.m. at the McKean County 911 Center, 17175 Route 6, Smethport, PA 16749.

If you would like to attend, please contact Scott Coburn at scoburn@psats.org

We are planning additional sessions in Fayette, Lackawanna, Lycoming, and Susquehanna counties later in May or early June. More details to come.
