PSATS will soon welcome Jerry Ozog as its Public Safety Specialist, a newly created position designed to bolster the Township Emergency Management Association (TEMA) and the municipal public safety platform generally. “The Public Safety Specialist is a new position at PSATS, focusing on the needs of townships and emergency responders to meet the challenges in public safety through partnerships and collaboration. Jerry’s extensive experience and passion for community safety will be invaluable as we work to support and enhance the safety of our residents and response networks,” PSATS Executive Director Dave Sanko says.
Ozog is a nationally recognized emergency services expert with more than 35 years’ experience. He will be leaving the Pennsylvania Fire and Emergency Services Institute, where he currently serves as executive director, and will start at PSATS later this month. Ozog says that he is honored to join PSATS and “looks forward to working with communities across Pennsylvania to enhance public safety and emergency preparedness. My goal is to support and strengthen the efforts of our local communities and first responders.”
When elected or appointed, township officials automatically become PSATS members through their township's membership. If you're an elected or appointed township official in Pennsylvania and are unsure about your entity’s membership status with PSATS, your board secretary or manager can provide the necessary details.
