DEP Seeks Public Input on Improving PA’s Electric Grid

The state Department of Environmental Protection is seeking input as it develops a plan to use $40.5 million in federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act funding to improve the statewide electrical grid. Top priority for the grants will be Environmental Justice areas, patients in smaller nursing homes and hospitals, and small businesses. Pennsylvania must submit its plan to the U.S. Department of Energy by September 30.

A virtual public meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 31 from 10am to noon to hear from Pennsylvanians and township officials should consider participating, particularly those with recent experiences with outages impacting township residents.
