DCED Annual Filing Notice Mailed   

The state Department of Community and Economic Development mailed its Annual Notice to File to all municipalities last week. Township officials should look for this notice, which contains important information about upcoming required filings. The notice was mailed to the primary contact listed in townships’ Report of Elected and Appointed Officials. In addition to the Annual Notice to File, the mailing contains several informational pieces, including a boundary change letter.  

The notice reminds townships that the following reports will be due: 

  • 2024 Municipal Tax Information Form: Due January 15, 2024. Changes to the earned income tax or local services tax rates or collector changes are due to DCED by December 1, 2023. 
  • Municipality Report of Elected and Appointed Officials: Due January 31, 2024. Required for liquid fuels payments. 
  • 2023 Survey of Financial Condition: Due March 15, 2024. However, to receive liquid fuels payments by March 1, this report must be submitted to DCED no later than February 13, 2024. 
  • 2023 Municipal Annual Audit and Financial Report: Due April 1, 2024.
