Biden Approves Federal Individual Assistance Request

President Joe Biden has approved a major disaster request for Pennsylvania following Tropical Depression Ida.  The approval releases individual assistance for Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, Philadelphia, and York counties and makes the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program available on a cost-share basis to all 67 counties. Residents and business owners who sustained losses in these counties can begin applying for assistance by registering online at https://www.disasterassistance.gov/

Neither the federal nor state announcement indicates whether Biden has decided to approve Gov. Tom Wolf’s request for public assistance for Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Fulton, Montgomery, Philadelphia, and York counties. The public assistance program provides federal assistance to municipal, county, and state governments.
