New State Archives Exhibit, Heroes of Flight 93 and First Responders

The Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission opened a new exhibit at the State Archives, “Witness to History: Pennsylvania on September 11, 2001.” The exhibit honors the ultimate sacrifices made by the 40 passengers and crew members aboard Flight 93, who heroically fought back against hijackers, likely saving untold numbers of lives from the intended target in Washington D.C. The exhibit also highlights the months-long recovery and identification efforts at the crash site, including the response by state police, first responders, and other state and federal agencies who navigated the tragedy firsthand. The exhibit will be accessible to the public during the Pennsylvania State Archives’ regular operating hours. Click here to read the press release.
