The Office of the State Fire Commissioner is accepting applications for the Fire and EMS Grant Program until October 22. Townships are encouraged to share this information with partnering fire companies, emergency medical services agencies, and volunteer rescue squads. Fire and rescue companies must be actively reporting to the statewide incident reporting system, PennFIRS, monthly to qualify. 

Funds may be used toward up to two projects in the following categories: construction and/or renovation of fire company or EMS facilities; purchase of equipment; debt reduction; training and certification costs; and recruitment and retention. Additional information and guidelines are available at the OSFC’s grant website.
