Municipalities Receive Grants to Help with Active Transportation Plans

The state Department of Health announced $380,000 in grants to help 11 communities develop Active Transportation Plans to increase physical activity with improved pedestrian, bicycle, and transit networks. Grant recipients through the WalkWorks program will work over the next year with transportation and community planners to collect data, assess current conditions and aspirations, and incorporate public input to craft their Active Transportation Plans.

This year’s recipients include Antis Township, Blair County, and Bensalem Township, Bucks County. To learn more about this program, click here for the press release.
