Applications Accepted for PHARE Housing Funds
As a result of last year’s budget agreement, The Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency is now accepting applications to build and repair affordable housing across Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Housing Affordability and Rehabilitation Enhancement Fund (PHARE) uses state, federal, and other funding sources to help create, rehabilitate, and support affordable housing. Townships are eligible to apply for funds provided by the Realty Transfer Tax. Funds can be used for preservation and rehabilitation to rental or owner-occupied housing, creation of rental housing, homelessness prevention, innovated housing solutions, and more. Demolition of blighted, abandoned, or other at-risk housing and development of for sale housing for low to moderate income households are also allowable uses. Applications are due November 20, 2025.
