Want to increase the tree canopy in your township? Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful (KPB) is offering Healing the Planet Grants, funded by The GIANT Company, which aim to invest in tree plantings across the company’s operating areas in Pennsylvania. A total of $112,000 in funding will be awarded to tax-exempt organizations for tree planting projects this year.

Eligible projects must be located in areas where The GIANT Company, locally known as GIANT and MARTIN’S, operates stores in Pennsylvania. Applicants can reside outside of the target locations but the project MUST be in the following counties: Adams, Berks, Blair, Bucks, Carbon, Centre, Chester, Clearfield, Columbia, Cumberland, Dauphin, Delaware, Fayette, Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon, Indiana, Lackawanna, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lehigh, Luzerne, Lycoming, Mifflin, Monroe, Montgomery, Montour, Northampton, Perry, Schuylkill, Snyder, Union, and York.

Projects must be shovel-ready and include tree planting and direct costs relating to tree planting.  KPB is accepting applications for grants of up to $4,000 through 4 p.m. July 1, 2025. All grant guidelines, information, and the application can be found on KPB’s Healing the Planet Grants page.
