Looking for $$? Check for Unclaimed Property!

Each year, the PA Treasury Department receives millions of dollars in unclaimed property. Common types of unclaimed property are savings or checking accounts, stocks, dividends, checks that have not been cashed, such as payroll, certificates of deposit, unclaimed insurance benefits, insurance premium refunds, and the like.

Don’t miss out! PA State Treasurer Stacey Garrity was able to return over $12,000 to Heidelberg Township, Lehigh County, to benefit township residents. This included four individual properties ranging in value from $546.26 to $5,594.44. The oldest property dates back to 2010, while the most recent is from 2015. Properties returned include funds from a bearer bond principal, dividends, underlying shares, and a utility refund/deposit.

Take a few minutes to search for what may be owed to your township. There are entries for townships, fire departments, and municipal authorities on the list of Unclaimed Property Owners. If you find your township, file a claim by downloading a claim form or track progress of your claim online. Inquiries may be sent to tupmail@patreasury.gov
