WalkWorks Active Transportation Grants Available
The state Department of Health and Pennsylvania Downtown Center’s initiative, WalkWorks, is accepting applications for grants and technical assistance to develop Active Transportation Plans. For the purpose of this program, active transportation includes walking, biking, using a wheelchair, and accessing public transit. Townships are eligible to apply through March 20.
Please note that townships in priority counties can request higher grant amounts and have no match requirement. This year, the list of priority counties includes Berks, Clearfield, Erie, Fayette, Forest, Greene, Lackawanna, Lawrence, Lebanon, Lehigh, Luzerne, Lycoming, Mercer, and Northumberland. An informational webinar will take place on Wednesday, February 4, at noon, and questions can be directed to pawalkworks@padowntown.org. For more information, visit the WalkWorks grant page.
