Does your township have an infrastructure project to complete? $1.5 billion is available under the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) grant program for surface transportation infrastructure projects with significant local or regional impact. All PA townships are eligible to apply and are considered “rural” for purposes of this program (located outside an urban area that had a population greater than 200,000 in the 2020 Census) and can apply through February 24, 2026. 

Eligible projects include planning or constructing surface transportation infrastructure projects that will improve safety; environmental sustainability; quality of life; mobility and community connectivity; economic competitiveness and opportunity including tourism; state of good repair; partnership and collaboration; and innovation.
