Need Some $$ for the 2026 Budget? Check for Unclaimed Property!
Each year, the PA Treasury Department receives millions of dollars in unclaimed property.
Common types of unclaimed property are savings or checking accounts, stocks, dividends, checks that have not been cashed such as payroll, certificates of deposit, unclaimed insurance benefits, insurance premium refunds, and the like.
Over $12,000 was returned to Heidelberg Township, Lehigh County, including four individual properties ranging in value from $546.26 to $5,594.44. $8,360 was returned to Tunkhannock Township, Monroe County was reported as an insurance premium refund from 2019 and was placed in the township’s general fund. Spring Garden Township in York County recently received more than $13,000 in unclaimed property, including accounts payable checks, credit balances, and uncashed checks.
