Mixed-Use Housing Pilot Program Awards

Mixed-Use Housing Pilot Program Awards

Governor Shapiro announced $10 million in funding for seven projects through the PA Mixed-Use Housing Development Pilot Program. These projects will develop or convert buildings or land for mixed-use, including new residential homes. This is more evidence that all the housing options currently discussed are already allowed using existing rules that include local approvals… without new legislation mandating statewide zoning.

  • $2,000,000 to the County of Bucks to preserve a historical landmark, the Almshouse in Doylestown Township, by integrating affordable housing with a mix of commercial spaces, office facilities, retail, hospitality, services, and restaurants. The project will include at least 175 housing units.
  • $1,000,000 to Benchmark Construction Company, Inc. in Lancaster County to construct a mixed-use development on 20 acres located in Penn Township. The project includes 88 townhome units, 72 apartments, and 18,000 square feet of commercial space.

The Pilot Program, administered by DCED, dedicated $10 million in PA SITES (Pennsylvania Strategic Investments to Enhance Sites Program) funding to the development of mixed-use projects. Click here to read the press release.
