PennDOT Invites Pennsylvanians to Share Input on Traffic Safety
The state Department of Transportation is seeking input from Pennsylvanians on traffic safety and driving behaviors through an anonymous online survey that takes about 5 minutes to complete and will be available through February 28. The survey will help inform PennDOT on actions that can be taken to continue to improve traffic safety and save lives across the Commonwealth. The anonymous survey can be found by clicking here.
The anonymous survey asks questions about individual driver behaviors and messaging, then asks about steps that can be taken to address traffic safety, including asking if municipal police should be able to use radar, which PSATS supports due to a resolution adopted by the membership. The State Police (PSP) also support local use of radar.
There is an open question at the end where any suggestions for traffic safety and messaging can be submitted.
PennDOT would like to build on traffic safety success, as the number of deaths on Pennsylvania highways decreased to 1,127 in 2024, the second lowest since record keeping began and 2025 preliminary numbers indicate a further decrease.
