State, National Flu Season Remains Quiet

The state Department of Health says that flu activity has been, and remains, low across both the commonwealth and nationally this flu season. This compares with last year when cases were higher than normal. In addition, only 37 individuals with influenza have been hospitalized this season, and 14 have died. 

It is thought that actions to slow COVID-19 have been effective in stopping the flu, as both viruses spread the same way. In addition, a record number of individuals received the flu vaccine this year. Click here for more.
