Townships that recently worked on a successful environmental project are invited to apply for the 2026 Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence, the state’s top environmental honor. Projects that promote environmental protection and stewardship and were completed between November 1, 2024 and November 19, 2025 are eligible. The state Department of Environmental Protection will accept applications until Friday, January 16, 2026.
