Reminder: Single Yellow Lines Not Eligible for Liquid Fuels Tax Funds

PennDOT recently sent an email to municipal officials throughout southcentral Pennsylvania reminding them that a single yellow line on a two-lane, two-way road violates federal and Pennsylvania laws and, consequently, is not an eligible expense for liquid fuels tax funds.

Pennsylvania has opted to follow the 2009 Edition of the Federal Highway Administration’s Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), with some exceptions. PennDOT reminded township officials that not being in conformance with these provisions may put the township at risk if a crash occurs on that roadway.
