Need Resources to Learn About Data Centers?

PSATS has put together several resources to help its members plan for data centers. Townships with zoning need to make sure their ordinances are updated to provide for this new use and protect their communities. To help member townships, PSATS has a Virtual On-Demand Class called Data Centers? Zoning, Infrastructure, and Lessons Learned. The virtual class, available here, focuses on how to address this emerging land use and what to do when an application is submitted. Additionally, PSATS will be having workshops involving data centers at the Annual Conference, Spring Solicitors Seminar, and Spring Zoning Seminar.

PSATS has also collected sample land use ordinances that address data centers from townships at the forefront of this issue, which are available for members by logging into psats.org and going to “Programs & Services” and choosing Resource Center. Look in the ordinance folder for data center resources.

Finally, the October edition of the Pennsylvania Township News featured an article about data centers. If you can’t find your October edition, log into psats.org and choose “News & Publications” and Township News for the digital edition!
