Need Organization Meeting Resources? PSATS Has You Covered!
Each year, PSATS publishes an Organization Meeting Checklist to help you prepare for the annual organization meeting, which will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026. Below are some additional reminders:
- The organization meeting must be open to the public.
- Appointing the chair of the board should be the first order of business, followed by the vice chair, secretary, and treasurer positions. Additional mandatory and recommended appointments will then follow.
- The organization meeting is a great time to consider and appoint delegates to attend the PSATS Annual Conference, held April 19-22, 2026!
- Townships may consider the organization meeting as a regular monthly meeting for the transaction of business or can hold a regular meeting immediately following organization. In either case, organization must be tackled first.
- The board of auditors will organize on the following day, Tuesday, January 6.
An On-Demand Webinar was recorded earlier this month: Get Prepared for the 2026 Organization Meeting, in which Holly Fishel and Katie Lizza of PSATS review to-dos and best practices to help ensure that your township has a smooth organization meeting. Click here to register and view the recorded webinar, which is free of charge with a Webinar Powerpass.
