The U.S. Internal Revenue Service set the 2026 standard mileage rate for the business use of a vehicle at 72.5 cents per mile, up 2.5 cents from 2025. A township board of supervisors may establish a mileage rate for use of personal vehicles for township business, provided it is no higher than the IRS rate.
When elected or appointed, township officials automatically become PSATS members through their township's membership.
