Department of State Shares Election Information

The Secretary of the Commonwealth Al Schmidt encouraged Pennsylvanians planning to vote in person to review comprehensive voter information available at vote.pa.gov prior to voting. Schmidt also reminded Pennsylvanians that unofficial statewide results will be posted to the Department of State’s elections return site, electionreturns.pa.gov, after the polls close today at 8 p.m.  

“Municipal elections like this year’s are important because this is when voters choose the local officials who make decisions that impact their day-to-day lives,” Schmidt said. “The Department of State wants to ensure that every registered voter can make their voice heard and cast their ballot safely and securely.” 

Schmidt reminded Pennsylvanians that polls are open today from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and that any voter in line by 8 p.m. will be allowed to cast their ballot. Completed mail ballots must be returned to county elections board by 8 p.m. to be counted.
