Brownfields Assessment and Cleanup Grants Available
EPA’s Office of Brownfields and Land Revitalization is soliciting applications from eligible entities for Brownfields Multipurpose, Assessment, and Cleanup Grant funding. Townships are eligible to apply for these opportunities through January 28, 2026.
- Multipurpose Grants provide funding for communities that have identified a discrete area (such as a neighborhood, a district, a shared planning area, or a census tract) with one or more brownfield sites. The grant provides funding to carry out a range of eligible assessment and cleanup activities, including planning and additional community engagement activities.
- Assessment Grants provide funding for brownfield inventories, planning, environmental assessments and community outreach. Townships may be especially interested in Community-wide Assessment Grants and Assessment Coalition Grants.
- Cleanup Grants provide funding to carry out cleanup activities at brownfield sites owned by the applicant.
