The state Department of Community and Economic Development mailed its Annual Notice to File to all municipalities last week. 

The notice reminds townships that the following reports will be due:   

• 2026 Municipal Tax Information Form: Due January 15, 2026. Changes to the earned income tax or local services tax rates or collector changes are due to DCED by December 1, 2025.   
• 2026 Municipality Report of Elected and Appointed Officials: Due January 31, 2026. Required for liquid fuels payments.   
• 2025 Survey of Financial Condition: Due March 15, 2026. However, to receive liquid fuels payments by March 1, this report must be submitted to DCED no later than February 12, 2026.   
• 2025 Municipal Annual Audit and Financial Report: Due April 1, 2026.
