75% of Pennsylvania residents depend upon volunteer organizations to provide fire and emergency services. Changed economies and demographics have drastically altered these traditionally independent services, forcing local governments to become more aware of how these services are provided to constituents.
This session provides a very comprehensive view of the volunteer fire and emergency service role in the community, and the necessity for local governments to take new or renewed interests in how those services are provided. History, facts, insurance, financing, legal requirements, relationships and procedures for problem solving are all included in this course. All of these elements are critical to understanding the roles of the volunteers and local governments in Pennsylvania and how volunteerism can be enhanced and sustained.

Walk-in Registrations
Pre-registration is strongly recommended. Walk-ins are accepted on a space-available basis. Please note there are times when a session is cancelled or rescheduled. Registered attendees will be notified of schedule changes prior to the session. Call (717) 763-0930 or visit www.psats.org prior to the session to verify the correct date, time and location. Substitutions are permitted without notice.
Cancellations
A cancellation received less than 10 business days of the session you are registered for, is subject to a $20 processing fee for refunds. Those who cancel within 48 hours of the session date or do not attend, forfeit the full registration fee and if unpaid, will be invoiced.
