PSATS Purpose The Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors (PSATS) has been serving Pennsylvania’s 1,455 townships of the second class since 1921. PSATS is committed to preserving and strengthening township government and securing greater visibility and involvement for townships in the state and federal political arenas.
Townships of the Second Class
Number: 1,455
Population:

81% of townships of the second class have a population of 5,000 or less.

42% of all Pennsylvanians–5.4 million–live in townships of the second class.

Definition: In general, townships of the second class have a population density of less than 300 people per square mile.
Governed by: An elected board of three or five supervisors (most often three), who serve both legislative and executive functions. A supervisor’s term of office is six years, with elections held every other year.
PSATS Annual Conference & Trade Show

Exhibitors: All Pennsylvania Township News advertisers are invited to exhibit at the Association’s annual conference and trade show, the largest municipal show of its kind in Pennsylvania. We have both indoor and outdoor exhibit space available for sale.
Attendance: More than 3,500 township officials from all over Pennsylvania.
Show Hours: Sunday, Noon - 5 p.m.
Monday, 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Tuesday, 7:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Booth Fees: Advertisers – $1,365 per space
Non-advertisers – $1,890 per space

Township Mailing Labels/List

If you are interested in doing direct mailings to townships of the second class, you have several options for getting mailing labels and lists:

1) PSATS will sell to advertisers, exhibitors, and member engineers only a set of 1,455 labels addressed to township secretaries for $500. Call the editor to request a set of labels.

2) The list is also available on the Web site for the Governor’s Center for Local Government Services. To access it, log onto www.newpa.com. Choose “Get Local Government Support” and then “Municipal Statistics.” Scroll down to “Municipal Officials Online Database” and choose “Local Government Officials.” There, you will find several choices for generating reports.
