New, Re-elected supervisors Need to Take Oath of Office

Tuesday December 17th, 2019

Before assuming the duties of office on January 6, newly elected and re-elected township supervisors must take an oath of office to support the Constitution of the United States and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and to perform the duties of office with fidelity. This oath must be administered by a judge, district magistrate, or notary and filed with the township secretary.

Keep in mind that if your township will need to appoint a supervisor to fill a vacancy at the organization meeting, that you will need to have a qualified “oath giver” on hand to administer the oath before the appointee may participate in the meeting.
