Attention, Members: You're Invited to PSATS' Upcoming Blood Drive and Health Fair

Tuesday June 13th, 2017

Township officials, staff, and the public are invited to take steps to improve their well-being, including eating better and quitting smoking, at the free Blood Drive and Health Fair hosted by the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors on Thursday, June 22, at its Education Center, 4855 Woodland Drive, Enola.
The event will also feature free preventative health screenings, samples of healthy foods, and personal safety tips in honor of National Safety Month. The blood drive, in partnership with the Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank, will be held from 8 a.m. to noon (donors must have photo ID), and the health fair will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“Townships are charged with protecting the health, safety, and welfare of their residents, and as the representative of Pennsylvania’s townships, we wanted to do our part,” PSATS Executive Director Dave Sanko said. “We’ve brought together a handful of partners so if you’re interested in donating blood, getting healthier – or both – we encourage you to stop by.”
The event will include screenings for hearing, blood pressure, triglycerides, and cholesterol; on-site nutritionists and healthy food samples; support for quitting smoking; safety tips from the Pennsylvania State Police and tours of a patrol car; and information about disease prevention.
In addition to the Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank, the following organizations will be participating: Pinnacle Health, Aetna Insurance, the Pennsylvania State Police, and Weis Enola.
Preregistration is not required. For more information, call PSATS at (717) 763-0930, ext. 105, or email
