Apply for Flood Mitigation Funds by July 31

Thursday April 4th, 2013

As a result of the Act 13 Marcellus Legacy Fund,  the Commonwealth Financing Authority is now accepting applications for funding for flood mitigation.  The money can be used to acquire land, rights of ways, and easements necessary to construct eligible projects. Eligible projects include construction, improvement, expansion, repair, or rehabilitation of flood control projects; engineering costs; inspection costs; and permitting fees.

The application deadline for the program is July 31 for consideration at the November 13 CFA Board meeting.

The funding assistance for flood mitigation projects is the sixth of seven programs to be created by the $14.5 million Act 13 Marcellus Legacy Fund.  CFA previously approved guidelines for abandoned mine drainage abatement and treatment; watershed restoration and protection; water quality data; greenways, trails and recreation; and orphan and abandoned well programs in the state.
