Prevailing Wage Projects Must Comply With Last Year's Act 127

Thursday April 4th, 2013

Townships are reminded that all prevailing wage projects must comply with Act 127 of 2012, the Public Works Employment Verification Act. This means that townships need to inform contractors when Act 127 applies to a particular project and ensure the prime contractor notifies subcontractors that Act 127 applies to the project and that the Public Works Employment Verification Form must be submitted to the township.

In addition, before awarding any prevailing wage contracts, the township must obtain a completed Verification Form from each successful bidder who will be awarded a contract and be able to show the date of the bids, the date the Verification Form was received from each contractor, and the date of the award of the contract.
