DCNR Offers Assistance for Upcoming Grant Application Process

Wednesday November 14th, 2012

Townships that may be seeking grants for public recreation and conservation projects should consider participating in a free webinar Nov. 29 offered by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Bureau of Recreation and Conservation.

The 2013 grant program for public recreation and conservation projects opens Jan. 9, 2013, and ends April 10, 2013. Grants are funded through a variety of programs, including the Keystone Recreation and Conservation Fund, Environmental Stewardship Fund, Pennsylvania Recreational Trails Program, and the Land and Water Conservation Fund.

DCNR will also offer in-person grant workshops in February 2013 to provide information to potential applicants on DCNR grants and other non-DCNR funding sources available for public recreation and conservation projects.

These training opportunities will assist community leaders, municipal officials, consultants, land trusts, board members, and park and recreation professionals with learning what resources are available to plan, acquire, and construct public recreation and conservation areas in their communities.

Pre-registration for the webinar and workshops is required at
