Economic Stimulus Funding: Show Me the Money
Gov. Ed Rendell says that Pennsylvania can expect to see about $16 billion from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the economic stimulus package that President Barack Obama signed into law on February 17.
Those billions of dollars will provide funds for transportation projects, wastewater treatment plant upgrades, rural development, and much more. Some money will flow directly to the state for disbursement to local governments, and other funds will be allocated by the federal government or through competitive grants.
How can your township get in on the action? This workshop will show you the way by telling you what funding is available and where to apply for it.
Participants will receive a copy of a comprehensive publication, the Local Government Stimulus Guide, that outlines just how the new law can help local governments, as well as a toolkit that includes a cumulative list of new information made available since the law’s enactment.
Whether you’re a township supervisor, manager, secretary, or anyone else who deals with municipal budgets and funding issues, this workshop is for you. Devote three hours to one of these workshops and find out how the economic stimulus package can benefit your township and its residents.
These workshops are made possible through the support and leadership
of Pennsylvania Sen. Michael Brubaker (Lancaster County), and are financed by a grant from
the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Department of Community and Economic Development.
