Better life. More dental. Expanded medical. COVERAGE YOU CAN TRUST.

PSATS Insurance and Workers’ Compensation Programs
For decades, PSATS has offered a full-range of insurance and workers’ compensation options for its member townships. Under the umbrella of the Trustees Insurance Fund, townships can sign up for affordable medical, dental, life, disability, and pension plans. The Association, in cooperation Municipal Risk Management Inc. of Pittsburgh, also offers programs for liability and property insurance and workers’ compensation.

Read on to find out more about both of these programs…

The Trustees Insurance Fund: Offering Medical, Dental, Life, Disability, and Pension Plans
Great coverage. Superior service. That’s what you’ll get when you participate in PSATS’ Trustees Insurance Program, which includes medical, dental, life, disability, and pension plans. Already, more than 5,000 township supervisors, employees, and family members rely on us for their insurance and here’s why:
  • Expanded Medical Network – Our Preferred Provider Plan, offered in association with Devon Health Services, features one of the largest networks of physicians and hospitals in Pennsylvania – and it continues to grow. For participating providers, log onto www.devonhealth.com. For Townships located in Lebanon, Dauphin, Cumberland, Perry, and northern York counties, we have an alternate provider network available. This network provides access to the acute care facilities in the area including the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey. For participating providers, log on to www.primesourcehealthnetwork.com. A prescription drug service benefit is also included in our medical plans.

  • More Dental Coverage – We’ve enhanced the benefits in our dental plan, which covers preventative, diagnostic, endodontics, periodontics, and major restorative and orthodontic treatment.

  • Disability Coverage for Less – Our two disability plans offer competitive coverage for nonoccupational accidents and illnesses and, now, lower yearly premiums.

  • High-Quality Life Insurance – Member townships can choose from five high-quality life insurance schedules that can provide up to $50,000 of life and accidental death benefits.

  • Excellent Pension Plan – Specially designed for townships, our pension plan is a defined benefit plan that is eligible for state aid through Act 205, helping to offset township pension costs. And thanks to a new partnership with Summit Financial Corp. and Nationwide Insurance, most participating townships can now pick and choose where their pension monies are invested. This option allows townships that invest wisely to increase their pension plan earnings while lowering their out-of-pocket costs.

  • Backed by Reliability You Can Trust – The Trustees Insurance Fund is underwritten by Trustmark Insurance Company, a leading national insurer with a tradition of financial security and excellent service.

  • Experience and Service – The Trustees Insurance staff has more than 100 years of combined experience. We answer your calls promptly and give you personal assistance with your coverage and claims. It’s the kind of service you can expect from PSATS.

PSATS’ Programs for Liability and Property Insurance and Workers’ Compensation
When it came to finding a company to provide liability and property insurance and workers’ compensation for our member townships, understandably, PSATS wanted the best. And we found all of the qualities we were looking for in our newest partner, Municipal Risk Management Inc. of Pittsburgh. Here’s why we think you’ll feel the same:

  • A Tradition of Service – MRM has been in business for more than 20 years. In that time, it has generated more than $300 million in premiums and close to $45 million in cash dividend returns to participating municipalities and municipal authorities. For many municipalities, these dividends are helping to pay their premiums. MRM is managed by a board of directors/trustees made up wholly of municipal officials and authority managers and exists exclusively for Pennsylvania local governments.

  • Safe and Secure – MRM is 100 percent reinsured by the Argonaut Great Central Insurance Company, which is part of a $1 billion-plus asset insurance organization.

  • Backed by the Best – The broker/administrator of the MRM program is The HDH Group, Inc., the largest privately held, employee-owned insurance program in Pennsylvania. HDH serves the entire state and is solely responsible for the municipal insurance programs that it administers in coordination with MRM. Keep in mind, too, that if your township is ineligible for the MRM programs because of its claims experience, the HDH Group will try to find an alternative underwriter for your township.

Make the call…If your township is looking for lower insurance rates, stability in uncertain times, and good solid service, dial up PSATS toll-free insurance hotline, (800) 382-1268, to find out more about the Association’s insurance and workers’ compensation programs.
