| Description: |
PSATS and the Township Engineers Association (TEA) extend an invitation to municipal engineers and their professional staff to attend the upcoming Fall 2009 Educational Seminars.
This year’s seminars will be held on Wednesday, October 14, in Berks County and on Thursday, October 22, in Butler County. Registration for both locations will begin at 8 a.m., with the Seminar starting at 9 a.m. and adjourning at 3 p.m. Lunch will be served at noon, and is included in the registration fee.
These full-day seminars are designed to meet your educational interests and your busy schedule by providing a focused overview of a number of important issues of interest to municipal engineers and their local government clients. We encourage your attendance at this interactive and informative session.
Both locations will discuss: (a) proposed changes to the state’s Act 537 regulations, (b) improving coordination with PennDOT on common drainage issues, rights-of-way needs, and ADA-compliant curb cuts, (c) improving coordination with developers on maintenance agreements, and distinctions between the Planned Communities Act and planned residential developments; and (d) issues regarding bridge scour. Berks County attendees will also review stormwater best management practices and how the related maintenance agreements will be affected by DEP’s proposed model stormwater management ordinance. Butler County attendees will review the legal and environmental issues regarding oil and gas well permitting and road posting and bonding. |
