In these tough times, townships are discovering that grant money can give their budgets a significant boost. Funding is available from state and federal agencies, private foundations, and businesses, but finding and getting it requires patience and persistence.
Twenty years after Pennsylvania’s recycling law took effect, the state is looking at updating the regulations. Townships that recycle could face a longer list of items to keep out of landfills and place into recycling bins.
Interest rate management agreements, or “swaps,” can sound tempting to cash-strapped townships. The risk, however, might be more than municipalities bargained for.
