By mixing its top two industries, agriculture and tourism, Pennsylvania hopes to draw visitors from near and far to help preserve farms, create jobs, and boost the economy. Township supervisors are supporting these ventures while working to ensure the safety of residents and tourists alike.
Many townships depend on volunteers for all the little extras that make their community a great place to live. Following their lead - and a few simple rules - can help other townships engage civic-minded residents of all ages.
New cable franchising rules from the Federal Communications Commission have changed the game of cable competition. However, townships can still come out as winners by knowing the rules and developing a game plan now.
At its summer meeting, the PSATS Executive Board discussed the Association's annual convention schedule, strategic planning, a partnership to promote responsible economic growth in the state, and earned income tax collection.
