- Real estate assessments that remain unchanged from three, four, or even five decades ago have forced many townships to pinch pennies and look beyond property taxes for income to pay the bills. Now, they’re starting to ask if the time is ripe to reform the often inaccurate and inequitable reassessment system.
Whether addressing zoning, conditional use, subdivisions, or land development, township supervisors need to learn the do’s and don’ts of application review and anticipate the consequences of their decisions.
- Although the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Program is no cakewalk, say townships that have earned the program’s seal of approval, the effort more than pays off in the long run.
- Recent census results from the U.S. Department of Agriculture show that while Pennsylvania’s farms are changing to survive, most remain the small, family-owned operations of yesteryear.
- At its summer meeting, PSATS’ Executive Board discussed the Association’s grassroots lobbying strategy, policy statement, and feedback from the annual convention.
