No one wants cell phone towers, but just about everyone needs them. That’s why township supervisors are learning to balance residents’ concerns with the rights of cellular phone providers. With some long-range planning, they are preparing for the inevitable and even generating some revenue for the township along the way.

In township government, a single dissatisfied resident could make tomorrow anything but another day at the office. From installing security cameras to housing police in the township building, supervisors are finding ways to protect workers and residents alike from possible violence on township property.

Pennsylvania is the featured state at this year’s annual conference of the National Association of Towns and Townships. This is the perfect opportunity for township supervisors to represent their state, meet with their peers from around the country, exchange ideas, and make their voices heard in Congress.
