Some say that leaders are born and not made, but the fact is that when it comes to leadership, training and practice make perfect. Here, township officials and others share their keys for success as local government leaders.
State laws spell out monetary thresholds for everything from township bidding limits to prevailing wages and road funding. To bring the figures more in line with inflation rates, local government officials are seeking updates to these time-worn statutes.
The final installment of this series features PSATS Executive Director R. Keith Hite, who will retire at the end of this year. The Association’s success, he says, comes through the teamwork of the Executive Board, member townships, and PSATS staff.
Delegates to PSATS’ 87th Annual Educational Conference will elect five officers and two Executive Committee members on April 21. Learn about the nominees here.
Public Officials Day is an important tradition at the Pennsylvania Farm Show, and this year was no different as township and other local government leaders gathered for their sixth annual luncheon.
